We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and take ownership of all culinary operations. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering consistently high-quality food.

You’ll be responsible for menu development, kitchen management, food safety, and leading a team to deliver exceptional dishes & experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage kitchen staff, including recruitment, training, and rostering

  • Develop and execute menus that align with the venue’s concept and seasonal availability

  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control

  • Manage food costs, ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships

  • Maintain strict compliance with NZ food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards

  • Oversee kitchen operations during service and ensure smooth daily operations

  • Collaborate with management on budgeting, pricing, and business planning

  • Foster a positive, professional kitchen culture

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef ready to step up

  • Strong leadership and people management skills

  • Solid understanding of food cost control and kitchen administration

  • In-depth knowledge of NZ food safety regulations

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

  • Passion for fresh, quality ingredients and well-executed dishes

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
