Service delivery in Northland
Full-time (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday with some flexibility)

Purpose of the Role:
The Kaimahi role provides frontline, culturally grounded behaviour change support for men who use violence, with the aim of restoring whānau wellbeing and strengthening the safety of women, children, and families.
This role contributes directly to The Fono’s contracted Huringa ō Te Ao outcomes through mentoring, case management, and facilitated support that is trauma-informed, violence-informed, and accountability-focused. The position is grounded in Pacific and Māori values, upholds Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and aligns with The Fono’s integrated, equity-focused model of care.
About the Role:
As a Kaimahi, you will deliver frontline mentoring and case management that promotes non-violence, accountability, and sustainable behaviour change. You will work closely with whānau, communities, and partner agencies to support safer futures for women, children, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-to-one and small group mentoring (in-person and/or online)
Develop and review individualised behaviour change plans
Facilitate sessions that may involve whānau where appropriate and safe
Maintain strong professional boundaries, accountability, and ethical practice
Ensure the safety of women and children is central to all decision-making
Deliver services in line with Te Huringa ō Te Ao, MSD contracts, and national best practice
Participate in service development, continuous improvement, and reflective practice
Contribute to data collection, reporting, and quality assurance processes
Please Note:
This role does not provide crisis response or specialist mental health, addictions, housing, or food support services.
About You:
You will bring strong cultural competence, professionalism, and the ability to work with complexity while maintaining accountability.
Experience in social services, family violence, behaviour change, or related fields
Experience in case management, mentoring, or facilitation
A strong understanding of Pacific cultures, values, and protocols
The ability to engage whānau and reflect whānau voice in practice
Confidence working within structured frameworks and service guidelines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High computer literacy and documentation skills
A full New Zealand driver’s licence
Desirable:
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
Pacific language skills
Experience working with Pacific and/or Māori communities
