Trust (CIET) was established to maintain and operate the assets required to generate and reticulate the electricity supply for the Island and subsequently to provide electricians for public assistance (Chargeable Works).

Our purpose is generating and reticulating electricity to our community plus providing a chargeable works service for commercial and residential customers.

 Position Objective

The Lines Mechanic will carry out work for Chatham Islands Electricity Limited particularly on the transmission lines, but also to assist on the company’s generating sites and customers’ sites.

 Key Responsibilities

 Responsible for maintenance and repairs on company lines network and equipment.

Plan work with and coordinate contractors and sub-contractors' online network as required.

Work in a safe and diligent manner and comply with company Health and Safety policies.

Participate in site inductions and training as required.

Look after company property and tools and carry out weekly checks as required and report problems to the Manager.

Rotation on call.

Generation site

Assist in carrying out daily generator checks and running of generators as and when required.

New connections

Be involved in connections to customer sites from the company distribution lines network.

Administrative task

Complete tests and present written records of tests carried out at work when required.

Fill in job sheets, timesheets, and vehicle mileages accurately and timely.

Current NZ Driver’s License

EWRB Line Mechanics Registration & Current Practicing License

Crane Truck Operating License
