The Role
We’ve got an exciting opportunity available in our Technical Team for a Laboratory Technician with scope for a Senior Laboratory Technician for the right person. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. You’ll work closely with our Quality and Production teams to support testing, product development, and continuous improvement initiatives, all while keeping safety front and centre.
Reporting into the Laboratory Manager, this is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week on a roster, as well as rostered on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished products using established methods.
Follow all SOPs and safety protocols to ensure consistent and compliant laboratory practices.
Record and maintain accurate lab data in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Calibrate and maintain lab equipment to ensure reliable test results.
Report deviations, non-conformances, or equipment issues to senior lab staff.
Prepare reagents and consumables to support daily testing operations.
Assist in audits, investigations, and method verifications as needed.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised laboratory environment.
Engage in ongoing training and knowledge sharing with team members.
What You’ll Bring:
Qualifications or experience in food science, lab work, or technical fields.
Background in science (desirable but not essential).
Prior experience in a commercial or manufacturing lab environment.
Knowledge of lab instrumentation, including GC, LC, MS, and NIR (preferred but not essential).
Competent with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems such as D365 FinOps is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
