As we continue to expand our operations, we’re seeking skilled and motivated Refrigeration Service Engineers and Technicians to join our growing North Shore-based team. Our work spans everything from superyachts and commercial vessels to retail, hospitality, and large-scale refrigeration systems.
We specialise in marine refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, including chilled water systems ranging from small modular units (Dometic and Veco) to large screw compressor chilled water plants used on commercial and defense-based vessels, as well as other advanced marine applications.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced full-time Refrigeration Service Engineer to deliver installation, service, and maintenance work across both commercial and marine refrigeration and air-conditioning projects.
You’ll be part of a skilled, professional team handling diverse, technically rewarding work, from high-end marine HVAC-R systems to complex commercial installations. As our business operates 24/7, participation in the on-call roster (one week at a time) is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, commissioning, repair, and maintenance of commercial and marine refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
- Diagnosis and resolution of system faults and breakdowns.
- Preventive maintenance and optimization of chilled water plants and control systems.
- Occasional overtime to complete time-critical jobs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Trade-qualified Refrigeration Technician with at least 3 years of experience.
- Current Refrigerant Licence and Limited Electrical Registration.
- Full NZ driver’s licence.
- Skilled in brazing/welding, leak detection, pressure testing, and system evacuation.
- Solid understanding of electrical controls and wiring.
- Experience with chilled water systems, from small modular marine units to large industrial screw compressor plants, would be highly desirable.
- Marine refrigeration and air-conditioning experience is a significant advantage.
