Virbac New Zealand Limited, based in Hamilton, plays an important role in manufacturing and distributing premium animal health products trusted by farmers and pet owners throughout New Zealand.
We are currently looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our Quality Control team.
About the Role
Reporting to the QC Manager, the QC Technician will perform laboratory testing to ensure that raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental samples meet quality and regulatory standards within a GMP-regulated laboratory environment.
This is a hands-on laboratory role where accuracy, attention to detail, and strong compliance with procedures are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Perform testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products
Ensure accurate and timely reporting and release of results
Assist with Laboratory Investigation Reports (LIR) and Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations
Maintain GMP laboratory compliance and documentation
Conduct environmental monitoring and quality testing
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the QC team
Note: Occasional overtime may be required to meet operational demands. Overtime will be compensated in accordance with company policy and applicable employment laws.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
A tertiary qualification in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., BSc, DipAppSc or equivalent)
Experience working in a Quality Control or laboratory technician role
Previous exposure to a regulated or GMP environment (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organisation and time-management skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
A commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines
Working Hours
This is a full‑time position (40 hours per week). After the initial training period, the role will follow the shift:
2:15 PM – 10:45 PM
