Security Technician

About the role

ARA Group NZ Ltd is seeking an experienced Security Technician to join our growing Auckland‑based team. This full‑time role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work and takes pride in delivering high‑quality security solutions that protect people, property and assets.

Based in Auckland, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of a wide range of electronic security systems across diverse client sites.

Key responsibilities

Install, maintain, commission and repair security systems including:

• CCTV

• Access Control

• Intruder Alarm Systems

• Diagnose and fault‑find technical issues and implement effective, compliant solutions

• Liaise directly with clients to understand their security requirements and provide professional advice

• Complete service reports, documentation and system records accurately and on time

• Ensure all works meet company quality standards, industry best practice and relevant regulations

• Collaborate with the wider security team to deliver exceptional customer outcomes

About you

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• Proven experience as a Security Technician or in a similar technical role

• Strong working knowledge of electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms)

• Demonstrated ability to fault‑find, commission and troubleshoot systems

• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail

• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach

• A relevant technical qualification or industry certification (preferred)

• A full, clean New Zealand driver licence
