About the opportunity 

At  Ideal Electrical Whangarei we pride ourselves on offering exceptional service and hope to fill this role with a like-minded individual.  Your role as Inventory Control, Counter Sales will guide our team daily to ensure our customers are looked after and understand that every time they walk in, call, or email our branch that their query is important to us, and we will do our utmost to take care of them.

Your role is, in essence, counter sales with the additional responsibility for being the drive behind our teams purchasing, stock control and day to day branch operations.  We enjoy working with our customers (mostly electricians) across domestic, industrial and commercial sectors – and we want to ensure we have the right person to maintain our high level of support.

Our preferred candidate is proactive, computer-literate, values teamwork and has a strong service-sales ethos.  Your proven experience in providing top level service and sales is key, allowing you more time to devote to learning our products, systems, and processes. This is an exciting challenge for someone looking to take a step up in their career where the opportunities to grow and develop are wide-ranging.

With lots of variety in this role, some key responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining strong rapport with key customers and suppliers
• Identifying opportunities to generate sales by offering top-level service, (e.g. providing accurate and timely solutions, dealing with quotes and complaints, supporting promotions)
• Developing customer loyalty through building relationships and anticipating future needs of branch customers
• Being responsible for understanding branch stock requirements and ensuring replenishment of inventory to ensure stock is available to customers
• Supporting the Branch Manager to ensure that the branch maintains high standards of service and presentation
• Debt management (returns for credits, outstanding monies, etc.)
• Be available to support branch with other aspects as and when needed (e.g. deliveries, forklifting, after hours call outs)
• Ensuring Health & Safety protocols are adhered to at all times.

The hours of work for your role are Monday to Friday, 7.00am – 4.30pm and rostered Saturdays.
