Mō mātou | About us:
Te Puia is situated within the historic Te Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley, spanning 70 hectares in Rotorua. Home to the iconic Pōhutu geyser, bubbling mud pools, hot springs, and silica formations, Te Puia is full of natural wonders. Manuhiri (visitors) can also explore the native Kiwi bird and the prestigious national schools of wood carving, weaving and stone and bone carving. For over 100 years, we have been sharing these taonga (treasures) with manuhiri, continuing this legacy with pride today.
As an industry tuakana and an iwi-owned business governed by the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Vesting Act 2020, Te Puia NZMACI stands as a leader in uplifting Māori culture. Through generations, we have continued to uphold our values of manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga, ensuring that manuhiri experience the richness of our culture in an evolving tourism landscape.
